HOMOMORPH 2)
← Back
A model that differs from another only with respect to detail. (after G. PASK, 1961, p.32)
G. PASK states, curiously: "Now, the second homomorphic model, is also the observer's eye view of an observer who had thrown away some of the available information (in a carefully calculated manner, so that his image is less detailed than but consistent with the original)" (Ibid).
The construction of homomorphs is an observer's business. Moreover, homomorphs should never be mistaken for isomorphs, a quite rarer type of models.
